Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. Audrey is the largest child in a family of four. Her parents as a dentist and teacher, were aware of and encouraged their daughter's love for drama and theater at the age of a stage novice. The support they provided was enough to combat her goal of becoming a an animal scientist. When she was a teenager, her rise to stardom was quick and accompanied by the beginning of her success. When she first began an acting career she took part in Jeunes Premiers an French show on TV that focuses on talent sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. She also won The award for the Best Young Actress at during the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer in her youth and was educated Catholic. However she has now distanced herself with this background. Apart from her acting work, she was also interested in modelling. She was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and is known as "The Chanel Muse". She is a keen photographer and created a show in the Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity as well as fame. It also features a series self-portraits and a special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid popularity following Amelie. Audrey Tautou's debut role, as Amelie Poulain's main actor in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie poulain, earned her international stardom. Amelie gained international attention for its box office success. It also received praise during awards ceremonies around the world. Amelie is the most successful French-language film in the US. The film's success led Tautou to a variety of roles, from British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
